Sixth Grade
Collaged Triptychs
In this unit plan, sixth graders explored the ways in which we face obstacles over time. Students gelli printed with natural materials, experimented with paste paper methods and other processes to create treated papers that they used to make collages.
Each student created three collages which were about the ways they have overcome fears in the past, ways they might overcome a fear in the future, and a map of their favorite place. Together these three collages were matted and pasted onto a cardboard triptych.
